Portrait of Mrs Juliana Eigbe

Founder & Head of School · Since 1991

Mrs Juliana Eigbe

Juliana Eigbe founded Starfield Early Years in 1991. She is an educator with 40 years' experience in the Nigerian educational sector, including over 10 years with the Lagos State Ministry of Education before she started Starfield. Her passion to address the declining standard of education, which became clear during her time at the Ministry and as her own children started nursery school, led her to create a learning centre where each child could learn and be the best that they could be.

Starfield Early Years grew from a small neighbourhood school with humble beginnings to now include a Secondary School and a unique Montessori school focused on the Montessori method of teaching. Starfield Early Years has consistently over the past 35 years dominated the educational landscape in Nigeria, with their students having the best results in the country every year till date.

Juliana has a Master's Degree in School Administration from the University of Lagos, a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling in Education from Lagos State University and an NCE Certificate in Geography & Economics from the University of Benin. She has served on the board of the Private School Association of Lagos and as Secretary for the organisation.

After 40 years of service, Juliana is still passionate and relentlessly pursues her vision to transform the Nigerian educational system.
